ABOUT US

The Australian National Aviation Museum, located at Melbourne’s Moorabbin Airport, is owned and operated by the Australian Aircraft Restoration Group (AARG), ACN 005 125 244.

The AARG is a community based , non-profit company, limited by guarantee, the Museum’s objective is to tell the story of both the people and machines that made Australia’s rich aviation heritage.

Donations to the museum:  All donations to the museum of $2.00 or more are tax deductible. The museum is also recognised under the Australian Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme. Accordingly, and subject to verification, the assessed value of any item donated to the museum can be recognised as a tax deduction under the Cultural Gifts Program.

Admission is by entrance fee with cool drinks, snacks and souvenirs available for purchase at the museum shop.
Guided tours for groups can be arranged, and group discounts are provided.

The Museum provides for disabled visitors via ramp access, with disabled toilets available onsite

Family: $20  Adults*: $10    Children: $5 (under 5YO free) School/Bus Tours & Large Groups: $5 per person
*Adult Concession Holders & Full Time Students: $7
(Guided Tours, tailored to suit age groups are available during museum open hours (and at other agreed times), with minimum of 20 persons, subject to prior booking and arrangement by telephone to the museum on (03) 9580 7752)

The museum is located on the corner of First Street and Second Avenue, Moorabbin Airport, Victoria, Australia.

Opening Hours:           Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12.00pm to 4.00pm.
                                   Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 5pm
                                   Public Holidays 10.00am to 5pm (Closed Christmas Day)

Note: School and group tours by appointment (available outside normal operating hours)
                             

Getting to the Museum:  The Museum is located 14 miles or 22 km south east of the Melbourne CBD, accessible via the Monash Freeway, Princes Highway or Nepean Highway via Warrigal Road to Centre Dandenong Road and Grange Road.  The nearest railway station is Cheltenham, which is 2.5 miles or 4km west of the museum along Centre Dandenong Road. (see map below)

Public Transport: 
(Please Note: 827 and 828 buses run 7 days per week, 8am to 9pm)
From Melbourne City
:, take Frankston line train to Cheltenham station, take 827, or 828 bus east along Centre Dandenong Road and alight at the corner of Grange Road.  
From Eastern Suburbs:, take 700 bus south down Warrigal Road, alight at Centre Dandenong Road, then take 827 or 828 bus heading east and alight at Grange Road.
