The Australian National Aviation Museum, is located at Moorabbin Airport near Melbourne Victoria and is recognised as Australia’s only true National Aviation Museum.

 

Owned and operated by the Australian Aircraft Restoration Group, a community based, not for profit Company, limited by Guarantee, the collection was established in 1962, and is the oldest volunteer Aviation Museum in Australia.

 

Over the last 40 years, the museum has saved a number of significant examples of Australia's aviation heritage, and with nearly 50 aircraft on display, in storage or under restoration, and over 20 engines on display, the Museum is one of the largest in Australia. 

The Australian National Aviation Museum contains the finest collection of Australian made and designed aircraft, as well as the broadest collection, with represenattive types covering the development of airtravel and military aviation in Australia.

Family: $15.00  Adults*: $7.50  Children:  $3.50
*Concession & Full Time Students $3.50

Toilets & BBQ facilities onsite.

Cool drinks, snacks and souvenirs available for purchase at the museum shop.

The Museum provides for disabled visitors via ramp access, with disabled toilets available onsite.

           
Getting to the Museum: 
The Museum is located 14 miles or 22 km south east of the Melbourne CBD, accessible via the Monash Freeway, Princes Highway or Nepean Highway via Warrigal Road to Centre Dandenong Road and Grange Road.  The nearest railway station is Cheltenham, which is 2.5 miles or 4km west of the museum along Centre Dandenong Road. (see map below)

Public Transport:
 
(Please Note: 827 and 828 buses run 7 days per week 8am to 9pm)
From Melbourne City
:, take Frankston line train to Cheltenham station, take 827, or 828 bus east along Centre Dandenong Road and alight at the corner of Grange Road.  
From Eastern Suburbs:, take 700 bus south down Warrigal Road, alight at Centre Dandenong Road, then take 827 or 828 bus heading east and alight at Grange Road.
