HOW CAN YOU HELP?

As a volunteer not for profit group, we are in constant need of support by our members, visitors and the generosity of sponsors and donors, to help us in our work to save historic aircraft, gather missing parts, complete restorations and to extend the Museum to protect and display the collection! 

The Australian National Aviation Museum, located at Melbourne’s Moorabbin Airport.

Owned and operated by the Australian Aircraft Restoration Group, AARG), ACN 005 125 244 which is a community based , non-profit company, limited by guarantee, the collection was established in 1962, and is the oldest volunteer Aviation Museum in Australia.

Over the last 40 years, the museum has saved a number of rare and significant examples of Australia's aviation heritage, and with nearly 50 aircraft on display, in storage or under restoration, the Museum is one of the largest in Australia.

The AARG
and its collection's objective is to tell the story of both the people and machines that made Australia’s rich aviation heritage, and its activities in collecting and displaying these rare and important artifacts of Australia’s rich aviation heritage is achieved through the support and volunteer efforts of its members, and through the gate takings from museum visitors, income from book sales, or donation of aircraft parts, restoration materials, equipment or money by members of the public, or corporations.


Why not consider making a Donation? 
All donations to the museum of $2.00 or more are tax deductible. The museum is also recognised under the Australian Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme. Accordingly, and subject to verification, the assessed value of any item 
donated to the museum can be recognised as a tax deduction.



Why not consider becoming a Sponsor? 
The AARG receives financial support from Individuals, Foundations, Corporations and Community/Service groups, arrangements can be made for regular direct debit or other methods of payments, and allocated to general  or specific project funding with promotional naming rights or sponsorship signage.

                                  
Why not consider becoming a Member? 
Our collection can benefit from your support as a member either by voluntary work on site, networking and other remote assistance or just simply your financial contribution of a membership payment, members receive our regular "Insight" magazine and are invited to museum updates, social functions and special tours. 

You do not need to be skilled or employed in the Aviation Industry to assist, and there are many hands-on, or administrative and other tasks that need to be done.

Work at the museum is voluntary, application for membership is open to anyone over the age of 14 years, further details can be obtained by emailing the museum, or ringing the museum on  (61 3) 9580 7752.

The museum is located on the corner of First Street and Second Avenue, Moorabbin Airport, Victoria, Australia. (Melways ref. 87 G4)

Opening Hours:           Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12.00pm to 4.00pm.

            Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 5pm
