Moorabbin air museum - winjeels group
Moorabbin Air Museum has a group of younger people with an interest in all aspects of aircraft and flying.
Known as the "Winjeels" after the famous Australian-built trainer aircraft, the group meet every Saturday between 10am and 2pm, though this sometimes runs over when bigger activities are underway.
Aside from supporting the Museum and learning about aircraft restoration and maintenance, the group experience flights in small aircraft, and maintain an electronic record of their experiences. The teaching is done at the Museum and then the records maintained through their own computers.
Winjeel members are also introduced to, or extend, their knowledge of flight simulation via training forums, discussion groups and hands-on experience.
There is no uniform, but wearing a coloured shirt with the Museum logo will help identify everyone.
Joining cost is the price of the shirt, logo and an Associate Membership of the Museum.
If you would like to join or learn more about the Winjeels, please contact us, or drop in on a Saturday and ask for the Winjeels at the Museum.
